OUAS + CSI = week 2 of an amazing love story

Good morning out there!

It's a beautiful Saturday morning and Stockholm is waking up to sunshine and blue skies. What a glorious day it promises to be!!

To all of you who've been swearing at the word verification that I've had turned on, but gritted your teeth and still faithfully continued to visit me - THANK YOU!! So grateful you pointed it out to me - it's turned off now!!

Saturday morning our time also means the second of the joint OUAS & CSI September releases has gone live. Another absolutely magnificent one!! Oh boy what gorgeous pages from both DTs, always fascinating to see how differently we interpret the one and same sketch and palette. Just wonderful!

Remember there will be 4 challenges at OUAS for September instead of the usual 1 challenge. This is because CSI has 4 each month. Each challenge will be revealed on SATURDAY MORNING (Australian time) to coincide with the challenge reveals at CSI in the USA and you MUST remember that you you will have just 9 days per challenge to enter your layouts at OUAS.

The winners at OUAS will be announced at the beginning of October and the DT will look at ALL the entries from ALL the challenges. So the more challenges you play along at, the more chances you have of being one OUAS challenge/prize winners or Top 5 Featured layouts.

CSI announces the featured layouts on a weekly basis.

So off to check the second challenge!

For this challenge, you must use :

*the SKETCH provided
* all the colours in the SCHEME
* at least 2 elements from the EVIDENCE
* at least 1 element from the TESTIMONY!

Please also remember that you MUST tell what evidence you have used and where your testimony is/what it is, when you upload your entry to CSI! We will not be considering your entry when choosing the weekly features if you only refer to your blog for information!!!

It is also important that you mark your entry with the number of the CSI case file WITHOUT #, like this - the number FIRST:

37_Name of your page

Your page will automatically go into the case file album where the DT choose their favourite layouts, N.B. we do not look in the member gallery!!

I know, lots of things to remember but once you get the grip, it's easy peasy.

As I am in group 3 i.e. case file # 38, it is not my turn to have my DT page shown at OUAS. I have made an extra page that is shown over at CSI- "Rain":

This week's palette is an interesting one and I found it very challenging. Didn't succeed at all with the very special tone of blue, kept myself mainly to the neutrals in the palette with very small accents in blue and red.

This photo is by the Finnish photographer whom I've mentioned before. She lets me use photos off her website if I point out they are not mine. This is what the passed summer looked like in our parts of the world - rain, rain and more rain.

My testimony is at the back of my page, it is in the form of a diary entry and sparked off by the inspiration words daydream and break:

"Waking up to another day and its raining, again. The first couple of days I loved hearing the drumming against the roof and looked forward to reading that Ken Follet book. Now I'm bored, don't like the chocs any longer either. Saw this photo on her website together with all the other photos from sunnier days. Why is it Scandinavia gets so darned dull with rain when it can be so beautiful in sunshine?! I know this photo is taken from the Finnish seaside and I know how fabulous this little town of cute old wooden houses in pastel colours is. Remember another summer, going for coffee at the marina and having the "korvapuusti" (directly translated into: ear slap but actually being a cinnamon roll). Oh boy, I really need a break from this rain. Give me sunshine PLEEEASE!! Think I'll go and have a browse of the travel agency, Greece? I might as well finish off that box of chocs. *sigh*"

The evidence I've used are: a bookpage, buttons and I've used a craft knife to cut the flower tendrils that I've tucked into the bottom left cluster. I suppose the blue stamped water bubbles could be considered as dots with a vivid imagination.

Used embossing powder on wet modelling paste and zapped it with my heat gun till it started bubbling. Gives such an interesting subtle texture I think.

Prima stamps.

Instead of using vertical paper strips that was my first thought, I've used washi tape, fabric tape and lace.

There they are, the tendrils.

So before I sign off for today, I'll give you this week's palette from The Color Room. Warm, autumnal colours: Silky Suede, Bisque Beige, Tuscan Sun and Tropican Tan.

My page is FULL of mixed media, will be back to share it with you on Tuesday.

Have a really wonderful spring/autumnal weekend wherever you are! Thanks for popping by!

Toodelipip! xoxo Eila
