OUAS normally has a monthly challenge with a beautiful sketch by Nadia, and CSI has 4 weekly case files with a pre-set palette + mandatory prompts for evidence and testimony (journalling).
Each challenge will be revealed Friday evening US standard eastern time/Saturday morning Australian standard eastern time so as to go live simultaneously. Now is that proof of major coordination by Nadia and Debbi or what! I am so so impressed by these both ladies, incredible work they have put in behind the scenes to pull this off without one single glitch!
In September we will have 4 weekly joint challenges and for each challenge one MUST use:
* the SKETCH provided
* all the colours in the PALETTE
* at least 2 elements from the EVIDENCE
* at least 1 element from the TESTIMONY
The DT members of OUAS and CSI have been assigned one weekly challenge each and will be featured on both sites. I am on both teams and will try to make extra pages for the challenges that are not "mine". This week's challenge is # 36 by CSI standard, I'm up for # 38.The OUAS winners at Once Upon A..Sketch will be announced at the beginning of October and the Design Team will look at ALL the entries from ALL the challenges. So the more challenges you play along at, the more chances you have of being one of our challenge/prize winners or Top 5 Featured layouts.
This is a little different to CSI who announce our "featured" layouts on a weekly basis.
It is a MEGA MASSIVE reveal that has just gone live!! The September month's guest designer over at OUAS is the one and only, the incredible artist, the sweetest sweetest possible lady, my much admired Pippi Longstocking of mixed media; fabulous NATHALIE KALBACH! It is thanks to this beautiful lady that I discovered how fun it is to play with mists, masks, modelling paste and gesso.
The main sponsor for both OUAS and CSI this month is the incredibly stunning paper company 7Dots Studio and boy are they donating awesome prizes!
The inspiration from both DTs is amazing, I have to urge you to go and check out both the OUAS and CSI sites for stunning projects! I promise your Mojo will be rearing to be let loose!
The sponsors of OUAS and CSI alike are showering us with incredibly generous prizes, it's really like Christmas come early;
* lovely OUAS DT member Evgenia Petzer
* kit club C'est Magnifique
* online store Scrapbook Fantasies
* Imaginarium Designs chipboards
* beautiful handmade tags by Berry 71 Bleu
* Brazilian designer of scrapbooking paper and canvas Julia Cotrim
* online store Scrap Locker
Here's my extra page for this week's joint challenge - "Sunkissed"
The background paper is from Swedish Maja Design, all the other papers are MME Tangerine, except the fussy cut birds that are Prima Birdsong.
This beautiful be-dimpled young lady with the most beguiling smile ever, is Miss Kelly from Wellington, New Zealand. I met her at some friends' wedding a few years ago where she was with her much beloved adopted Swedish family and was immediately taken by her bubbly sweet nature. Need I say this girl is absolutely stunning too! Kelly gave me permission to use this photo off Facebook.
All the colours are in there.
My journalling is at the back of my page as usual. I wrote my journalling in the form of a letter and used bits of the inspo words in there too;
Kelly, you beautiful sweet girl
You are certainly sunkissed in many ways. I have followed you on FB since you moved back home to New Zealand and lost myself many times in the photos you have posted there. To be young and carefree, enjoying life to the fullest, you certainly know how to do that and still remain firmly planted with your feet on the ground. Your beautiful families, both your biological one at home and your Swedish whacko delightfully crazy and fun one, adore you. Giggling with your girlfriends sends off waves of happiness all the way to Stockholm and back to Wellington again. You have caught the heart of a cute surfer and it's obvious for anyone to see how happy you make each other, I'm sure Dean agrees with everything I've said about you. A certain young lady in Hammarby Sjöstad, no names mentioned, makes sure you keep on top of all the goss. Thank you for allowing auntie Eila to use your photos and share your beauty with my blogging friends. Cheers! Much love, E
The evidence I have used are; used letters as embellishment, used tone on tone patterned papers, scattered elements the bottom part of my page and used curved, organic shapes.
More letters used as embellishment (the upside down M's under the photo)
Still trying to digest all the gorgeousness the girls over at OUAS and CSI have created, will revisit each page many times over this upcoming week, that's for sure!
Will be back on Tuesday with my page for The Color Room # 127. Here's the palette to vet your appetite! Mighty amazing pages created by the TCR DT too.
This sure is one glorious scrappy week!
Thank you from the bottom of my heart for popping in for a visit, it really does make my day to read all the beautiful comment that you leave me!
Till Tuesday, have a beautiful weekend! I'm going to try to fight off a beginning flu, could feel the sore throat yesterday and went to bed at 8 p.m. shivering under my duvet. Not doing much today in other words.
Toodelipip! xoxo Eila

ReplyDeleteEila....you are amazing!! I know this is so fickle but this is most definitely my favourite to date. It is chock a block with love and admiration and overflows with creativity and style :0) The birds and chevrons are fabulous, but the banner and clustering just blows me away, you clever, lovely lady x x
ReplyDeleteHi Eila. Between the US standard time and the Australian standard time, I fell asleep on the couch in the wee hours waiting for the reveal. I woke up this morning to a power cut and no internet. It took forever to update the post draft with the casefile reveal pictures and publish it. I knew that you were online at CSI and I could picture you in your jammies with a cuppa typing your special words of encouragement :) You have been there for me since my baby steps in the scrapping world. Thank you for holding my hand through moments of despair and celebrating the good ones with all your heart. You are one in a zillion, Eila. XOXO.

ReplyDeleteSo sorry you were feeling under the weather Eila! I do hope that you are on the mend? At least feeling a bit better?? In this part of the world the flu has been so strong this year. I was down for 2 weeks & into week I am up and about but still not with the same strength as before & the cough is finally all coughing itself out at last thanks to the 3rd bottle of expectorant! Wow what a fab collab!! beautiful sunkissed page to go along with it too!!! My only question is where do we post our layouts if we have time to play? At CSI or OUAS??
