Prima August BAP - "Fun in the Sun"

Hello again!

Back from my conference in the archipelago and back to internet access. Glorious glorious weather and absolutely amazing place literally a yard from the water front.

The rooms are built as cubicles facing the sea, all placed on a large pontoon. The first morning I woke up at 5 a.m. and thought one of my crazy co-workers was having a morning dip because of the splish splashing sound. Turned out to be a colony of grebes (birds) diving for fish and plopping up like corks with their catch.

Back to scrappy business and a last-minute page for the Prima August BAP. Finished it just before I left for my trip.

2013 August BAP
I kept to the sketch, just flipped it over to the left.

New Prima stamps and new Prima mask - yummo!

Layered some floral cotton fabric between the paper layers. Same as the bow.

As you can see, I've used the new A4-sized papers by Finnabair together with the board paper.

A short post today, have to catch up with my office emails and remedy the empty shelves in the fridge. That husband of mine lives on hot dogs when I'm away. I can see he's been playing computer games too. Small boys, big boys, boys will always be boys, right!

Got a parcel to pick up from the post office, been waiting for a couple of weeks to get it. NEW Prima goodies yay!

Skissedilla sketch # 222 - "Lazy Days"

Hello Sunday hello you!

Beeautiful day in Stockholm today, had breakfast out on the balcony wrapped into a blanket. Autumn feel lingering in the air.

Been scrapping behind the scenes again and trying to get ahead of my deadlines as September is going to be as busy as May and June were. The conferences at work are gaining momentum, which means busy busy days in the office for me.

Really itching to do some stuff just for myself, have several ideas for projects laid out all over our apartment. Hubbs is huffing and puffing over the mess and the cats are having a field day with all the stuff one can push off the table and play with :)

Back to Sunday, which means reveal day over at Norwegian Skissedilla HERE

Today's sketch is made by Laetitia

I flipped the sketch to the right. The chevrons are in one of the papers, what looks flat in the main photo is actually triple-raised so check out one of the photos taken from the side and you'll se what I mean.

Here is my take - "Lazy Days in the Sun"

All papers are from Polish UHK Gallery HERE

The collection is called Olive Grove.
Beautiful thick papers in shades of
teal, turqoise, cream and palest green.

I found the photo on internet, it's taken on the Swedish west coast.

I wanted to make something in the soft hues of the water,
the cliffs and patches of mild green that
can be seen in the photos.
(Same photos, I just mirrored one of them)

Here you see the triple layering of the chevrons.

I also used hazy green Glimmer Glaze on some masked "bubbles".

In addition to the Prima and Kaiser Craft blooms,
I was dead set on using this
fantastic large canvas bloom from Petaloo.
Reminds me of canvas awnings and deck chairs.

Love Finnabair's acrylic "bubbles" !

PRODUCT LIST;

Papers; UHK Gallery's collection "Olive Grove"
Mask; Prima
Flowers; Prima, Kaiser Craft and Petaloo
Embellies; Prima, Finnabair, Authentique and Crate Paper
Mediums; modelling paste, glimmer glaze "Misty Green" and Island Spring"

A short post today that marks the start of a period of almost daily blogposts up till mid-September as from the end of next week.

Leaving for a conference tomorrow and won't be back in town till Thursday, have unfortunately no access to internet where I'm going.

My next blogpost will therefore be on Thursday, 29 August. See you then if you want to!

A little something for some birthdays

Hello there!

Thank you so much for coming by for a visit!

This summer has seen quite a few birthdays. Some more special than others because they have been the celebration of special friends. I made a little something to those that hold a special place in my heart.

The first one based on papers from Pion Design,
went to a special lady on the other side of the globe.

The fussy-cut frame and fussy-cut pink roses are from Meg's Garden.

Butterflies and rose sprays in chocolate from Pion.

I made the rose myself and plopped down a white rose from KaiserCraft in the centre.

This is a 20 cm x 20 cm gift box, the lid of which
I dressed in papers and die-cuts from Norwegian Tilda's
new collection "The Corner Shop"

***
Inside the box I put this card that held a gift voucher.

***
Also the third little something is based on Norwegian Tilda's new collection "The Corner Shop".

Thanks again! I'll be back on Sunday with my take on the Skissedilla sketch nbr 222. Till then, have a beautiful end to the week!

Second take on the SATW August challenge - "Last Rays"

Hello Monday - hello you!

Today I am sharing my second take on SATW's August challenge which you can find HERE

This time I have not used the sketch, although I was inspired the circular elements from it in my background work.

I have used soft colours from my moodboard - pinkish peachy, white and teal. I drew inspiration from the white sugar dusting of the cakes and the glitter from the bling.

The khaki and yellow floral papers are from Kaiser Craft's collection "Sweet Pea". The background was created on an older pinkish creamish very subtly patterned paper from Pink Paislee. Stash raiding you know :)

The photo is not my own, I found it on internet and was captivated by how the rays of sunlight were so beautifully photographed. That's what inspired the title of my page.

Such a shame that the glitter effect doesn't photograph at all. All the flowers and the lace have a delish sheer shimmer of very fine silver glitter.

I started by masking the big floral doily pattern from KaiserCraft with matte gel medium and then followed up with a misting bonanaza in Gold, Patina, Banana Pudding chalk, Sunflower, Mr Huey's Opaque White and another subtle pattern masked in gesso.

Et voilà there it - The Last Rays!

Not long until
PaperHaus Magazine's Fall Splendor
online issue is released on
1 September!

I have projects in there ...

On that same day we will also start
the PaperHaus Fall Splendor daily blog hop
that will last 15 glorious days!

I promise you yummo daily prizes to be won
the main one being something
every scrapper is dying to have ...

Several of the DT members have signed up
for stops on two different days
sharing a new project each time.
I am one of them.

And with this I say thanks and cheerio till Thursday!

Second take on the OUAS August challenge - Us

Hi ya!

Wonderful seeing the office full of people again, love the hustle and bustle and having company for coffee breaks and lunch again.

Today I'm sharing my second take on the Once Upon A Sketch August challenge, HERE  on the OUAS website.

The theme is "I will never forget" or as I like to put it - "I will always remember". In this case, I will always remember the day I met my husband and all the 13 years we have been blessed together so far. I flipped the sketch to the left.

This page started out as something very soft and ended up looking rather bright. All papers used are from Swedish Maja Design's latest collection Sofiero. (Sofiero is our old king's summer residence down in the south of Sweden just across the waters from Danish Helsinor or Helsingör as it's called in Swedish).

The chipboard is from Imaginarium Designs that very kindly sponsor the DT of OUAS with products. I was not able to mention their company name during my term with Blue Fern Studios.

Thank you so much for taking the time to pop in for a visit!

As promised earlier, I will be back on Monday, 19th
with my second take on
the Scrap Around The World August challenge.

Till then - toodelipip! xoxo Eila
