White Christmas Cards - Last Day 12

There was seen a radiance
Glowing one night
Near the little maiden Mary
In blue and white.
"Lilies are not fairer,
"Roses more red,
Than the Child she sings to slumber,"
An angel said.

***

Today is day 12 and I am sharing the last 2 of my Christmas cards for 2014. Another special one for someone very special.

I hope you have liked what you have seen, perhaps even been inspired a bit.

This one is based on the thick sparkly white cardstock from American Crafts and the cream/pale blue striped one is from Authentique's Cozy collection.

Frosted berries dismantled from a Petaloo spray and stuck into the cluster. The robin is from a local craft store. Prima die cut leaves in gold paper and red bloom from Petaloo.

***

The second card is a variant of a card that I made in green. It was shared on day 6.

Here the bloom is in red instead and I have used die-cut leaves in gold paper instead of a host of green felt mistletoe.

I will now take a break from blogging here over the Holidays.

Wishing you all a beautiful Christmas with your family and friends!

So the shepherds ventured
Through the white cold,
And their eyes beheld the Infant,
An hour old.
Long they gazed and wondered,
Awkward in awe,
At the paramount perfection
Within their straw.
"Diamonds are but trifles!
"Rubies no gem!"
Cried the hearts that slaved for pittance
Near Bethlehem.
So it was forever,
After the night
When the little maiden Mary
Wore blue and white.

White Christmas Cards - Day 11

One little star on the top of the tree,
Two little presents underneath for me,
Three silver ropes twisted around the tree,
Four colored lights shining prettily,
Five shining balls flowing silvery.
Oh, what a sight for us to see!

Today's card is in pale blue, gold and creamy white.

It goes to a very special person.
She is the light of my life. Her smile
fills my soul with joy every single day.

One more card to go before my cavalcade of White
Christmas cards has come to its end.

White Christmas - Day 10

When you hear those little feet upon your roof on Christmas night,
you know that Santa has arrived in all of his great might.
These animals are truly a sign that Christmas is now here,
and you can have a wonderful day that is full of so much wonderful cheer.

We've come to the 10th of my White Christmas cards.
It is also based on Authentique's Faith collection.
The frosted berries are from Petaloo.

2 more days of work and then the bells toll
for 2 weeks of freedom - YAY!

Have a wonderful Wednesday!

White Christmas - Day 9

Decorate the Christmas tree.
Fa la la la la, la la la la.
Candy canes for you and me.
Fa la la la la, la la la la.
Hang the stockings, 1, 2, 3.
Fa la la, la la la, la la la.
Wrap the presents happily.
Fa la la la la, la la la la.
On a sleigh ride, go, go, go.
Fa la la la la, la la la la.

It's time to share another cream-on-white card and
this one was really tricky to photograph.
It still doesn't photograph well.

Papers used are Authentique Faith collection and gold paper.

The "snow" on the trees is white liquid pearl.

We are nearing the end of my cards, 3 left to
share with you.
So see you tomorrow if you have the
time to pop in for a peek!

White Christmas Cards - day 8

Deck the halls with boughs of holly,
Fa la la la la, la la la la.
Tis the season to be jolly,
Fa la la la la, la la la la.

Less than 10 days to Christmas! Presents almost done, thank heavens for online shopping I say. I always love the wrapping in and decorating the gifts best anyhow, so that's what I am concentrating on now.

Another bright card today with white accents.

Papers used are KaiserCraft's Mistletoe collection. Gosh how I love the white sparkly thick paper from American Crafts - sooo yummie IRL!

Have a wonderful day everyone! I'll be back tomorrow with one of the white-on-white cards.

White Christmas - day 7

On the seventh day of Christmas,
My true love sent to me
Seven swans a-swimming,
Six geese a-laying,
Five gold rings,
Four calling birds,
Three French hens,
Two turtle doves, and
A partridge in a pear tree.

Welcome back! it's been a crazy, crazy week at work. Been to 2 conferences out of town with only time to swap bags at home before heading out to the next one. No time for blogging, no time for creating - YET!

Have 2 weeks of Christmas holidays to look forward to as from 19 December and boy am I going to enjoy it! cannot wait to come for a visit to you and to start pulling out stuff from my shelves for some creative me-time.

So here's day 7 of my White Christmas cards. This time not so much white as happy colours with white as accents. Loving my buttons!

Papers used here are from KaiserCraft's Mistletoe collection.

Have fun this last week before the count-down to
Christmas Day or Christmas Eve!

White Christmas - day 6

Something wonderful happens each year
when boughs of mistletoe start to appear.
Suddenly strangers are quicker to smile,
neighbors more neighborly, at least for awhile.

We hear bells in the jingle of charitable quest,
and want to help others who are not as blessed.
Shoppers cross off lists in line at the mall,
sensing seasonal spirit that permeates all.

With hope and happiness we are instilled,
fresh feelings of charity and goodwill.
In December when Christmas day draws near
We're reminded it's the very best time of year!

*********

Welcome! it's day 6 and time to share another one of my Scandinavian Christmas cards.

This one is with gold accents. I have picked up the green parts of the Petaloo bloom with die-cut green felt mistletoe in two hues. It takes about 25 of the mistletoe to make the wreath around the bloom, all die-cut by hand.

Unfortunately the gold doesn't photograph well at all.
Shimmers beautifully IRL, here it looks beige.

God Jul means Merry Christmas in Swedish.
The "God" is pronounced as "Food" and has nothing
to do with the Christians belief.

Happy weekend to all of you!

White Christmas - day 5

Candles and stars
And Christmas tree lights
Twinkle and Glow
In the velvet night

Welcome back! it's day 5 and time to share another Scandinavian Christmas card with you.

I got the idea for this card when I had a pile of die-cut left-overs from when I made my Scandinavian Christmas home décor for Live With Prima in November. One of the negatives ended up over a patterned paper and I had a pile of buttons next to it on my desk. Et voilà - a card was born!

All of the cards I've made are unusally "flat" and CAS to be me. This one is so pretty IRL, the buttons have different shades of white/cream and some of them have a beautiful mother-of-pearl shimmer to them.

The gold star at the top is also a left over piece from something else that I've die-cut.

Papers used are again from the Authentique Faith collection.

Thank you so much for popping by! I'll be back tomorrow with card number 6.

Have a wonderful weekend everyone!

White Christmas - day 4

Hello friends near and far!

Welcome to day 4 of my cavalcade of Scandinavian Christmas cards.

Joyous voices sweet and clear
Sing the sad of heart to cheer
Ding dong, ding dong
Christmas bells are ringing

Another popular card with the buyers at the charity event. That die-cut golden fern really shimmers and shines IRL but looks so dull when photographed.

Have a beautiful Thursday!

White Christmas - day 3

It's a marshmallow world in the winter,
When the snow comes to cover the ground,
It's the time for play, it's a whipped cream day,
I wait for it all year round
.

Hello Wednesday and welcome to day 3 of my Scandinavian Christmas cards!

Today is snow day, a card with snowflakes of different sizes and different textures.

Starting with a big snowflake in white felt, topped by another one in white glitter cardstock, a third one in cream-on-cream patterned paper and perching on a star in white felt is a button with a pearl.

This card was a big hit and sold out super fast.

I will be back tomorrow with another card. Welcome back for a peek if you have the time!

White Christmas - day 2

Welcome back to the second day of my White Christmas parade of cards!

Today I am sharing a card with a music theme; sheet music rosette and a metal instrument embellishment. The papers used are from a Prima Ledger pad and the Authentique Faith collection. White felt and craft cardstock.

On the second day of Christmas
my true love sent to me:
Two Turtle Doves
and a Partridge in a Pear Tree

Have a wonderful Tuesday whether you spend it on the beach or huddled up in scarves somewhere in the northern hemisphere! See you tomorrow if you want to

White Christmas - Day 1

Light, light, let there be light! and light there is! The stars twinkle and shine up there and my home is warm. My heart is full of love to all of you who came to stand next to me. As a very wise friend said to me recently; creating is a gift given to us. It gives fuel to the soul, oxygen to the heart and warms up every little frozen corner of my inner self so here I am again.

Welcome December!

It's 1 December and normally the world outside my window is painted thick in white snow, but not this year. It is dark when and I wake up and dark when I go to bed, so we have beautiful tea lights everywhere in our house to keep up the spirit.

I made a series of white-on-white and cream-on-white Christmas cards for what was to have been a blog post over at SCRaP 365 but as it was closed-down, none of it came about. So I thought I'd share them here on my own blog, one a day for the next 10 days or so.

I have created about 75 in total of these Christmas cards and sold them at a charity event. Feels good to have contributed to a good cause while doing something I love.

So here comes the first card;

Papers used are from the Authentique Faith collection and American Crafts white glitter cardstock. Burlap, cream velvet trim, cream lace trims, white felt, pompom, seam binding, rafia, a Tim Holtz Fanciful Acoutrement button and a white Prima vine.

Thank you for taking a peek and welcome back tomorrow if you have the time!

xoxo Eila
