C'est Magnifique March GD - "You Glow" and "Our Girl"

Hi ya all!

Finally I can share the news with you! I am the March GD of C'est Magnifique kit club in the US!

The announcement went out in their newsletter a couple of days ago and will be posted on their blog today 28 February.

I will be sharing my pages in 3 separate posts. The first two pages come at the end of this post.

I have tried out several kit clubs and always ended up sorely disappointed either with their content or the slower than slow shipping that got me the kits even after the next month's kit had been released. I like to work with fresh and inspirational products and can honestly say C'est Magnifique truly bring something a little different than the main stream.

Sophisticated, international papers - tick in the box!

To join the CEM kit club, just send an email to leslie@cestmagnifiquekits.com that includes your full name, your mailing address and the e-mail you use for PayPal.

Kits are USD 37.95/month for subscribers. Priority shipping within the United States is
USD 7.00. Shipping to Canada is a flat USD 13 per month via First Class Mail and shipping to all other countries will be USD 20 per month also via First Class Mail. All add-ons and store purchases will be added to your box at no additional charge (both in the US and international)

Here are the goodies that are included in the MARCH MAIN KIT:

Here is my 1st page - "You Glow":

The young lady in the photo is our Emelie. It was taken 4 years ago at a studio photo shoot. It is one of my fave photos of her. It reminds me of the painting by Vermeer - "Girl With Pearl Earring". That same look in her eyes.

Masking, misting, stamping, inking, fussy cutting in layers.

The paper itself had so much delish pattern and colour that I let it speak for itself only adding subtle details to it. I framed the photo with one of the Pink Paisle Artisan squares.

Here I've used the beautiful Fancy Birdcage (074677). It looks like this when untreated.

I misted it in Wheatfields and Suede, the bottom left swirl show some misting in Jeans. To give it a rugged weathered look, I then embossed the birdcage randomly with lumpy bits of gold and then chalked on top in scarlet and very dark orange for a rusty feel. There it i, nesting under the fussy-cut leaves.

Prima January BAP and PPP

Holy smokes! this woman is still a bit frazzled around the edges. The conference we had on Thursday was a huge success but having fun till the wee hours and then pushing a normal working day in the office after having had like 4 hours of sleep kind of takes it toll. Chilling on Friday evening was more like being in a comatose state on the couch until it was time to say nightie night.

This post is going to be a quick one, I'm all ready and set for two workshops with Anna Dabrowska aka the one and only Finnabair today and tomorrow Sunday. I am also really looking forward to meeting my online scrappy buddies Riikka Kovasin from Finland and Ulrika Blomfelt and Maja Stokk Lindahl from Sweden.

So here goes first my Prima January BAP which I had to put together in a rush, which is never a good thing with me and I'm not particularly happy about how it turned out either. It's unusualy colourful and has less layers than I normally use on my pages. You all know that I find white space incredibly challenging.

And then my PPP which to my utter happiness got featured. It is an 8 x 8 canvas that was given to a very good friend instead of a birthday card and flowers.

That's it!

Thanks to all of you beautiful people out there, your comments truly brighten my day!! I'll be back later next week with some more pages. Have a wonderful weekend!

CSI case file # 59 - Counting the Ways

Hope this Tuesday finds you well wherever you are. Stockholm has been covered in a delicate layer of snow but it's not particularly cold at all. Hearing the birds singing in the tree outside our kitchen window, I am dreaming of warmer days once again.

Got my new passport from the police today and my goodness what a fright to see oneself in that photo! You're not supposed to look good, the lady at the counter said. Huh?!

Well, I hope you will find something pretty on the page I am sharing with you today; a page made for CSI case file # 59 - "Counting the Ways".

First the detailed clues;

As always, Michele has created a fabulous set of printables for you! Check out the marvelous images inspired by The Scene that Michele made for us! We can't wait to see how you use the Coordinates this week!

CSI Coordinates can always be found at the bottom of the reveal threads.  Scroll all the way to the bottom, where it says "Attachments." They are just above the reply box. Read about some tips on how to use these cool printables here

February is the month of love and Valentine's Day, and this week's Scene was found at House of Smiths.

The deadline for completing Case File No. 59

is Sunday, February 24, 11:59 p.m. US EST.

Here is my take:

I was inspired by a sketch by Michele Singh for the design, and Aida Domisiewicz' paper collection Frosted Life when I misted the pink/silver/grey background.

The grayish green floral backing paper is from one of Norwegian Tilda's new collections called The Seaside Life.

Here I have used two chipboard hearts from Blue Fern Studios Heart Set ( 074417) and layered them on top of each other. Gesso, ivory embossing powder, misting in red and some aged silver embossing enamel that pooled out into groovy puddles and splatter.

This is how the hearts look like untreated and you can find them HERE.

Heart Set
 (074417)

This luscious flourish belongs to another chipboard piece from Blue Fern Studios, the Fancy Birdcage (074677)

You can find it HERE and this is what it looks like raw.

Fancy Birdcage
(074677)

The photo is taken from internet.

Fussy-cut blooms are from a paper by Fabscraps. The deep garnet red velvet pansies are from Meg's Garden as are the two violets, forget-me-nots in cream and cut off jewels from a diamanté trim.

Here you can see the textured embossing a bit better.

My journalling is at the back of my layout as it often is. The title and the figures refer to everything that I love about my husband but many things are kind of private. So I simply let Elizabeth Barrett Browing's words speak for me;

How do I love thee? Let me count the ways.
I love thee to the depth and breadth and height
My soul can reach, when feeling out of sight
For the ends of Being and ideal Grace.
I love thee to the level of everyday's
Most quiet need, by sun and candle-light.
I love thee freely, as men strive for Right;
I love thee purely, as they turn from Praise.
I love thee with the passion put to use
In my old griefs, and with my childhood's faith.
I love thee with a love I seemed to lose
With my lost saints,—I love thee with the breath,
Smiles, tears, of all my life!—and, if God choose,
I shall but love thee better after death.

I misted the birdcage and the flourish in Graphite and Silver before inking in black. Then a bit of Stickles in Diamond before dabbing the pieces in TH distress ink in Forest Moss and as a final layer, I covered them in Tattered Angels Glimmer Glam in Chandelier for extra shine.

Thanks ever so much for popping by, you have made my day!

The March surprise I've mentioned actually goes live on 26 February and I'll be able to share a couple of pages with you on 28 February.

I'll be back on Saturday with my January Prima PPP and BAP.

Till then - cheers!

By The Sea

Hi!

February always marks the start of the big conference season in our company and boy have I had a flying start! Not an evening this week that I've gone to bed before midnight. The first management conference of several to come, takes place next Thursday.

Working with the final arrangements always means no scrapping, no commenting and pre-scheduled blog posts. As some clever person once minted; the elephant has to be chewed up in small pieces.

So if you're reading this on Saturday, it means I'm busy producing Power Point slides.

Once in a too rare while I have time to create something just for me. Here is "Down by the Sea" simply because I wanted to scrap one of the new Norwegian Tilda collections called The Seaside Life. It has such gorgeous blue colours, and as blue is my favest colour of all, it was pure bliss!

Thinking of old faded wallpaper with sweet floral pattern *sigh*

A feel of wooden old summer houses by the coast, mattress covers, summer dresses and collecting seashells.

A short and sweet blog post this time! Enjoy your weekend peeps! thanks for popping by!

Toodelipip! xoxo
