How Friday always comes with that extra special tummy feeling, knowing that it is almost weekend! YAY!
August is here and with it also comes that little change in the air, it smells differently and a blanket is good to have when sitting out on the balcony in the evenings. The shop windows have been full with flannels and wools for a couple of weeks now, but no oh no, don't want to think about it - not just yet.
Today I have 2 pages to share with you, they are both for The Color Room # 122 where we have a world scrappy celebrity as guest this month - Ingvild Bolme! Our August sponsor is Prima who are donating a set of Ingvild's craft tools to one lucky winner.
First the palette and inspo photo;
My pages are a set of 2 and will be shipped to Canada as they are gifts for my DH's cousin Sara and her hubby Tyler. The beautiful baby is their daughter A. I have the consent of her parents to use the photos, which I have taken from Facebook.
I have used double layers of watercolour paper as the resins are quite heavy and would make plain cardstock yield to their weight.
The big resin frame is from Melissa Frances.
I printed out papers from a digital kit from Scrapbook.com
And then we have the second page with the coolest daddy of them all. Just look at his face, the same incredulous happiness that all new parents feel at the miracle of life and holding their child. Precious!
There is quite some mixed media going on in the background of this one so I used double layers of water colour paper on this one too.
The same papers from the digital kit that I used on my first page are also in the banner.
I punched oodles of silk tissue flowers, layered them and secured by stapling them in the middle. Gave them a good scrunch before misting them and piling them onto the page.
Banners are made with the papers from the ditital kit.
Started with 2 water colour papers glued together. Misted and stamped randomly around the borders. Squirted water very gently on the stamping to make it fuzzy.
Put a good square of muslin gauze that I scrunched in place with slabs of gesso. Misted randomly.
Put on anoter good square of muslin gauze that I scrunched on top of the first layer. No gesso this time, I stuck it down with some good solid glue, but only just enough to make it stay put.
And there they are, my pages for The Color Room palette # 122! Thanks ever so much for having a peek! and while on the subject of peek, here's a sneak of the CSI case file # 31 that will be released this afternoon US ET/midnight European/Saturday morning Australian time.
Wishing you all a lovely, lovely weekend wherever you are or whatever you plans are.
Toodelipip! xoxo Eila
