White Christmas - day 7

On the seventh day of Christmas,
My true love sent to me
Seven swans a-swimming,
Six geese a-laying,
Five gold rings,
Four calling birds,
Three French hens,
Two turtle doves, and
A partridge in a pear tree.

Welcome back! it's been a crazy, crazy week at work. Been to 2 conferences out of town with only time to swap bags at home before heading out to the next one. No time for blogging, no time for creating - YET!

Have 2 weeks of Christmas holidays to look forward to as from 19 December and boy am I going to enjoy it! cannot wait to come for a visit to you and to start pulling out stuff from my shelves for some creative me-time.

So here's day 7 of my White Christmas cards. This time not so much white as happy colours with white as accents. Loving my buttons!

Papers used here are from KaiserCraft's Mistletoe collection.

Have fun this last week before the count-down to
Christmas Day or Christmas Eve!

White Christmas - day 6

Something wonderful happens each year
when boughs of mistletoe start to appear.
Suddenly strangers are quicker to smile,
neighbors more neighborly, at least for awhile.

We hear bells in the jingle of charitable quest,
and want to help others who are not as blessed.
Shoppers cross off lists in line at the mall,
sensing seasonal spirit that permeates all.

With hope and happiness we are instilled,
fresh feelings of charity and goodwill.
In December when Christmas day draws near
We're reminded it's the very best time of year!

*********

Welcome! it's day 6 and time to share another one of my Scandinavian Christmas cards.

This one is with gold accents. I have picked up the green parts of the Petaloo bloom with die-cut green felt mistletoe in two hues. It takes about 25 of the mistletoe to make the wreath around the bloom, all die-cut by hand.

Unfortunately the gold doesn't photograph well at all.
Shimmers beautifully IRL, here it looks beige.

God Jul means Merry Christmas in Swedish.
The "God" is pronounced as "Food" and has nothing
to do with the Christians belief.

Happy weekend to all of you!

White Christmas - day 5

Candles and stars
And Christmas tree lights
Twinkle and Glow
In the velvet night

Welcome back! it's day 5 and time to share another Scandinavian Christmas card with you.

I got the idea for this card when I had a pile of die-cut left-overs from when I made my Scandinavian Christmas home décor for Live With Prima in November. One of the negatives ended up over a patterned paper and I had a pile of buttons next to it on my desk. Et voilà - a card was born!

All of the cards I've made are unusally "flat" and CAS to be me. This one is so pretty IRL, the buttons have different shades of white/cream and some of them have a beautiful mother-of-pearl shimmer to them.

The gold star at the top is also a left over piece from something else that I've die-cut.

Papers used are again from the Authentique Faith collection.

Thank you so much for popping by! I'll be back tomorrow with card number 6.

Have a wonderful weekend everyone!

White Christmas - day 4

Hello friends near and far!

Welcome to day 4 of my cavalcade of Scandinavian Christmas cards.

Joyous voices sweet and clear
Sing the sad of heart to cheer
Ding dong, ding dong
Christmas bells are ringing

Another popular card with the buyers at the charity event. That die-cut golden fern really shimmers and shines IRL but looks so dull when photographed.

Have a beautiful Thursday!

White Christmas - day 3

It's a marshmallow world in the winter,
When the snow comes to cover the ground,
It's the time for play, it's a whipped cream day,
I wait for it all year round
.

Hello Wednesday and welcome to day 3 of my Scandinavian Christmas cards!

Today is snow day, a card with snowflakes of different sizes and different textures.

Starting with a big snowflake in white felt, topped by another one in white glitter cardstock, a third one in cream-on-cream patterned paper and perching on a star in white felt is a button with a pearl.

This card was a big hit and sold out super fast.

I will be back tomorrow with another card. Welcome back for a peek if you have the time!

White Christmas - day 2

Welcome back to the second day of my White Christmas parade of cards!

Today I am sharing a card with a music theme; sheet music rosette and a metal instrument embellishment. The papers used are from a Prima Ledger pad and the Authentique Faith collection. White felt and craft cardstock.

On the second day of Christmas
my true love sent to me:
Two Turtle Doves
and a Partridge in a Pear Tree

Have a wonderful Tuesday whether you spend it on the beach or huddled up in scarves somewhere in the northern hemisphere! See you tomorrow if you want to

White Christmas - Day 1

Light, light, let there be light! and light there is! The stars twinkle and shine up there and my home is warm. My heart is full of love to all of you who came to stand next to me. As a very wise friend said to me recently; creating is a gift given to us. It gives fuel to the soul, oxygen to the heart and warms up every little frozen corner of my inner self so here I am again.

Welcome December!

It's 1 December and normally the world outside my window is painted thick in white snow, but not this year. It is dark when and I wake up and dark when I go to bed, so we have beautiful tea lights everywhere in our house to keep up the spirit.

I made a series of white-on-white and cream-on-white Christmas cards for what was to have been a blog post over at SCRaP 365 but as it was closed-down, none of it came about. So I thought I'd share them here on my own blog, one a day for the next 10 days or so.

I have created about 75 in total of these Christmas cards and sold them at a charity event. Feels good to have contributed to a good cause while doing something I love.

So here comes the first card;

Papers used are from the Authentique Faith collection and American Crafts white glitter cardstock. Burlap, cream velvet trim, cream lace trims, white felt, pompom, seam binding, rafia, a Tim Holtz Fanciful Acoutrement button and a white Prima vine.

Thank you for taking a peek and welcome back tomorrow if you have the time!
