Prima FEBRUARY PPP + a peek at London + Easter Bloghop

Hello weekend!

I had some stowaways with me from London, rather persistent little fellows that made me bedridden for a couple of days sneezing and snivelling. Looking at some of the piccies I took in da UK, immediately made me feel so much better. We have an absolutely gorgeous day here in Stockholm, around zero degrees and SUNSHINE!

Check this out, how about afternoon tea in the restaurant of the Victoria & Albert museum, not bad huh!

And a truly lovely exhibition on Queen Victoria in Kensington Palace.

This is the ceiling in the ballroom.

 Right royal luggage.

Isn't this just the prettiest most romantic dress! it's Queen Victoria's wedding dress. She was a fantastic beauty when young, petite and absolutely adorable.

On this rather happy note, I would also like to thank the one and lovely Lindy Gillespie for giving me the Liebster Award! You are such a darling - THANK YOU!!

The Liebster Award was designed to be a blog award in the pay-it-forward fashion. It is awarded to blogs that have fewer than 200 followers to encourage new visitors to them. Once you have been nominated, you award to five other blogs.

The rules are: post the award on your blog, give the award to 5 bloggers who you appreciate that have fewer than 200 followers, then leave a comment on their blogs to let them know you have given them this award.

So I have passed this award onto:

Amazing ladies all of them!! xoxoxo

Before I share my Prima FEBRUARY PPP, I have a little sneaky of an upcoming Easter Bloghop. You might have seen the below logo in my sidebar. It is the fabulous, über cool Finnish scrapper Riikka Kovasin who will be hosting an Easter Blohop starting on 1 April at noon GMT/13.00 hours CET and I am one of the stops to visit!

More details in my next blogpost.

My Prima FEBRUARY PPP is an extremely dimensional 8 x 8 canvas which I made instead of a birthday card to a girlfriend of mine. It now hangs on the wall in her bedroom.

It's really difficult to make justice to the details, textures and different colours in these photographs. Somehow everything looks just like a pile of nondescript pink objects, which it's not IRL.

We had these originally white butterflies as part of our table decoration on New Year's Eve. There is quite a bit of silver glitter, Stickles and touches of gold to them. I stamped on the wings too.

I covered the sides of the canvas in cream lace and then misted them heavily in soft pinks.

Believe it or not, but beneath all the butterflies, there is masking/modelling pasting and quite a bit of stamping too. It's peeking out here and there under the layers. White seed pearls and strips of the cream coloured lace too.

Thank you so much for popping in, I so appreciate your visit!

Wishing you a beautiful weekend, take care!

Winner of my give away and Prima FEBRUARY BAP 2013

Hi there, I'm home again!

Flew with British Airways and had to pay for excess luggage on my way back ... TOLD you Saturday would be spent shopping! Seems spring is all about either fluttery, very feminine 1930's materials and cuts, or graphic assymmetric futuristic ones. Colours are either neon (teens) or soft corals and creams, or letter box red, cobolt blue and of course black and white. Nothing but shift dresses which doesn't do much for this apple-shaped woman. Good thing nicely taylored tunics in beautiful materials and patterns are very much in too!

The Swedish ladies were such a lovely group and training went like an easy breeze. The CEO of the training company pampered us like princesses, took us dining to really wonderful restaurants. Even went with us to the musical "We Will Rock You" based on music by Queen. Really such and incredibly fab fab evening and yes - I did stand up singing and dancing with the rest of the audience! forgot to buy a glow stick or I would have waved it too ha ha :)

Now to other business - the winners of my give away! Hubby pulled the following two names out of the box:

Tone-Lill and Miranda Edney

Congratulations ladies! Would you be sweet and email me your postal addresses please!!
eila.sandberg@telia.com

I have been advised the papers are due to arive in the store any day now.

****
After the workshops that I attended with Finnabarir aka Anna Dabrowska earlier in February, I went wild and crazy with the mists and stamps. Looking at the Prima FEBRUARY BAP and PPP that I made, makes me wonder what on earth were I thinking?!?

Anyhow, sharing my February BAP with you today and the PPP later in the week.

A short post today. Thanks a bunch for popping in!

Blue Fern Studios "Happiness! and another chance of winning my give away

Hello hello!

Hope you are all enjoying your weekend! I know I am, as the programme for the students I am teaching in London says "free time". No need to guess what I am doing - SHOPPING!!

Tomorrow we have a ride on the London Eye to look forward to, just as last year we will enjoy London's landmarks from above with a glass of proper champers in our hands - chin chin!!

MY GIVE AWAY

To celebrate the arrival of spring, I am giving away 2 full sets of Swedish Maja Designs new collection called Vintage Spring Basics.

The only thing you have to do, is to leave a comment on this blog post. If you leave a comment on my previous blogpost of Monday, 11 March as well, you will have two chances in the draw! My give away is of course open to anyone anywhere in the world!

This closes on midnight Tuesday, 19 March CET.
I will announce the lucky winners in the evening CET of Wednesday, 20 March.

BLUE FERN STUDIOS

It was my turn to share 3 pages over at the Blue Fern Studios blog on 11 March.

In my previous blog post I shared the first two, here is the third one that I have called "Happiness" (is to see things grow).

All papers used on my page are new Prima; Divine and Lyric mainly.

I have used the gorgeous Blue Fern Studios PRINCESS WINDOW under the photos.

The weathered-flaking-paint effect was achieved by dabbing the chipboard in pale straw yellow acrylic paint and distress ink in Vintage Photo over and over several times using only very light dabs of both. When I had achieved the layers I wanted, I randomly painted the chippie in Tatterd Angels Glimmer Glaze in Saffron.

I have also used a Blue Fern Studios Spring Iris - Large to the right of the photos.

I am really so pleased at how the irises turned out. The stems were painted heavily in Tattered Angels Glimmer Glaze in Organic Garden. The heads were misted in Mister Huey's Opaque White and Tattered Angels Lavender Fields. The Lavender Fields was added several times to get intense pooling. The dark pinkish is Tattered Angels Glimmer Glam in Lipstick Pink.

If you click  HERE   you will be taken to the CEM shop where you can find it.

The title Happiness is from the Blue Fern Studios word set GOOD VIBES that you can find HERE in the C'est Magnifique shop.

I gave it the same treatment as the Princess Window, please see above.

Some closies of my page before I sign off.

I'll be back in the evening of 20 March CET to announce the winners of my give away, also on Facebook.

Till then todeloo! xoxo Eila

Blue Fern Studios - "Adorable" and "Love" + a Give Away from Maja Design

Happy Monday and welcome to a new week!

Today is my turn to share some more pages over at Blue Fern Studios. Yummie new chipboard has been added to the C'est Magnifique store and is flying out the door quicker than Leslie can add it! Not surprised at all, the chipboards really are of superb quality and design, an absolute delight to work with!

Click HERE to be taken to the Blue Fern Studios blog.

Click HERE to come to the C'est Magnifique store where you can buy the chipboard.

The first page that I am sharing with you today is called "Adorable";

All papers used are from new Prima collections. There is a mix of Lyric, Fairy Rhymes and Divine.

The pretty title chippie ADORABLE is from the BFS set of words called GOOD VIBES and  HERE  is the link to the CEM store where you can buy it.

I simply inked it in Archival Ink in Black to make it stand out and show the beautiful "handwriting".

Earlier this year I used the bottom half of the BFS ROYAL BIRD FRAME for a page I made for CSI. Now I've used the top half on this page but flipped it. You can see it tucked in above the photo.

I misted it in Tattered Angels Candy Apple Red, inked in Ranger Spiced Marmalade and Versa Craft Poppy Red before randomly touching it up in Archival Ink Black.

You can find it HERE in the CEM shop!

The floral stems on the left of the photo are the BFS SPRING IRIS - SMALL and HERE is the link to the CEM store where you can buy it.

First I painted it in Tattered Angels Glimmer Glaze in Saffron without priming the chipboard with gesso. Then I added some Tattered Angels Glimmer Glam in Lipstick Pink on the flower heads and lastly I inked the edges in the same ink as the title so as not to smudge. The Glaze and Glam give the chipboard a really fantastic shine and colour IRL.

Here are some closies of the layout.

This little guy is the son of one of my younger cousins. He is now a handsome little man and the apple of his parents' eye.

The second page I am sharing with you today (the third one is pre-scheduled to go live next Saturday, 16 March as I am out of the country until 18 March) is called "Love".

All papers used on this one also from new Prima collections, mainly Fairy Rhymes and Divine. The brighter teal one is from Zephyr.

The title Love on this page is from the same BFS set of words called GOOD VIBES that I used for my previous page and  HERE  is the link to the CEM store where you can buy it.

The title was misted in Tattered Angels Sweet Clover and painted in Tattered Angels Glimmer Glam in Organic Garden, very very lightly dabbed in Lemonade before I gently swiped over it with my finger using a tad of acrylic paint in gold. Shimmer and shine IRL again!

I so adore the BFS butterflies in the BRIGITTE BUTTERFLY SET! such perfect sizes and perfect number of 3 in the package. Here I have used 3 equally small ones. HERE the link to where you can find them in the CEM shop!

They were misted in Tattered Angels Chalkboard Sandy Beach as a base and then in luscious Silk. The Silk has a fabulous shimmer of pinkish melonyish hue that has to be seen IRL, my new fave! I accentuated the shimmer of the Silk by painting the butterflies in Tattered Angels Glimmer Glaze in Icicle. Now we're talking about shimmer, just like flashes of jewels when the sun hits butterfly wings! I then added some silver sequins to them.

Here are some close-ups for you.

DH and I were at some younger friends' wedding some years ago and this is the basket with champers and the bride's maid's (ther DD's) bouquet that they brought onboard the boat taking them from church via the Stockholm archipelago to where the reception took place. The rest of us were transported in buses.
