1 year blog anniversary and CSI #18

It took me quite a while and took many nudges from friends near and far, before I finally took the step and started this blog. I cannot believe how quickly time has passed, it's already a year since that first blog post!

Cause for celebration in other words!

Does anyone recognize the colourful, warm, funny, giggly and über talented mixed media mega star that stands in the centre of this photo in a fuchsia apron?




It sure is NAT KALBACH!! it's me on the far right, behind me is Ulrika Blomqvist and to the far left is Eivor Larsson. Both Ulrika and Eivor are on the DT of Swedish Pion Design.

Nat, Ingvild Bolme and Christy Tomlinson had workshops in Stockholm over the weekend and I was having a ball playing with colours and mediums in Nat's two workshops. You will surely see me use more of the stuff in pages to come!

This is my take, I've called it "My Heart Is Home To Stay".



Nobody would guess that I have used 10 different mists in addition to gesso, modelling paste and stamping on my page, but here they are:



The photo is of DH on his birthday some years ago, hence the pink pubblies and rose on his lapel.



That luscious oversized flower is from Manor House Creations. I misted it in a soft soft hue of pinkish golden.

 

This textural swirl under the big cluster, was made with modelling paste and this chipboard flourish that I smeared in a thick layer of the paste before pressing it down onto the white cardstock.

Prima April BAP and Prima April PPP

So it's Friday again and I just keep repeating myself about how time must have entered space warp, seems like there is only two days to a week. Scrapping has taken the back seat for a couple of weeks when I have prioritized my sweet husband and neglected friends. My nook is screaming for cleaning but I have only closed the door and looked elsewhere. Now my mojo is stirring again, feels rather nice.

Today is release day over at TCR but I have no page to share with you for the above reasons. However, for the first time ever, I did send in a page for the Prima April BAP and the Prima April PPP several weeks ago. Those I will be sharing at the end of this post.

Here is the palette #109 as well as the Special Edition palette that Lydell has created for one of our May sponsors; ScrapThat! First the Prima April BAP that I have called "Where Fairies Roam". Seeing the first photo and then the others, one wonders if it is actually the same LO. Very very weird how the colours photographed, the photos weren't taken on different days or time. It's the main page that reflects the true colours!





Evidently everything on it is from Prima :)

 

This one is a gift for my girlfriend M. It's her dad and daughter in the photo, which was taken last summer when they were in Cornwall, UK on summer hols.



And then the Prima April PPP that I have called "Second Bloom".



This is my girlfriend K who lost her husband after 25 years of marriage but who has found love again. It's
wonderful to see her bloom once more.

Extra Edition TCR #108 Sun, Wind and Water and CSI # 17 Chimera

Tomorrow is Wednesday and a new working day. It would be very easy to get used to spending my days at a lesisurely pace with no pressure to get up at 05.30 in the morning and rushing to the tube and the office. These passed few days have indeed been heavenly.

So hubbs and I actually went on that spin into the country side and had coffee. Well, not just coffee - we had ample portions from this buffet too;



When the cherry trees bloom in a specific park in our town, spring is officially here. Isn't it a pretty sight, check this out:



Hubby did take me out for dinner yesterday evening, the restaurant is really OTP and has an unbelievably kitschy interior decoration. Urns full of huge fake flowers, pink nylon lace lampshades, fluffy fake flower banners with lights, huge pink mirrors and floral wall paper. Straight from a boudoir but boy is the food to die for! not forgetting the cocktails!

Now to the TCR #108 Extra Edition palette for the Swedish scrappy magazine Inzpira. I did manage to put something together despite the vibrat and bold colours that I find so challenging. All the papers are from Echo Park's collection Hello Summer.

The title is in Swedish and doesn't translaste particularly well. It's from a very famous Swedish summer song that all Swedes know the lyrics to: "Sun, wind and water, are the best things I know". Remember the miserable 5 months of snow and darkness that precede summer!

Happy Friday! Wow, did April fly by, or what? We are wrapping up National Poetry Month this week, and our inspiration image was chosen with Astronomy Week in mind.
