Thought 22 January was Wednesday, when it turns out it's actually Tuesday, so this blog post goes live a day earlier than planned.
Postie just brought me a goodie filled box that I am going to use for something special that will be revealed late in February mmmm.....
Got 2 pages to share with you today; CSI case file # 55 "Kopp, Kuppi, Cup" and the third page I made for my January GDT spot at Inkido's - "Amour". So off we go!
So totally LOVE the colours of this week's palette over at CSI, check them out!
And Michele's beautiful printable coordinates!
This week, as our fun surprise, we thought it would be fun to revisit our very first Case File and scraplift a member, Detective, or guest designer. Obviously, you won't be scraplifting the color scheme, but feel free to scraplift a page design or some element. What a fun blast from the past to look back at Case File No. 1! You can see the reveal here, and all of the layouts for this Case File in this album.
We're saving our biggest birthday surprise (which, if you've been paying attention to the sidebar, isn't such a surprise after all), for the last week of January, and it's going to be FUN, FUN, FUN--our Birthday Presents Blog Hop! Stay tuned for details.
My page didn't turn out at all as I had envisioned it seeing the gorgeous lime-blue-brown combo. Here's my "Kopp, Kuppi, Cup" which means cup in Swedish and Finnish.
I didn't scraplift anyone from case file # 1 but I did lift a detail from one of our current DT members; Riikka Kovasin. She has a tut in which she mists a crumpled-up plastic bag and swipes her paper on it achieving this cool effect that I have in white on my brown backing paper.
Eventhough my page is inspired by Scrapfriends' sketch nbr 9 I have also used the layered larger central squares of paper that Riikka likes to use, as well as "doodled" circles, overlay and washi tape but still with the Eila twist.
Used Tattered Angels Chalkboard mist in Banana Pudding on a couple of the circles, but the result was really disappointing. I've used it on lighter papers before and really loved the effect.
My journalling is about my precious English Minton tea cups that I have been collecting for the passed 10 years. I buy a cup, saucer and side plate each time I go to the UK as they cost an arm and almost both legs. Pretty pretty they are and my goodness how well my index finger curves around that perfectly shaped ear of the cup!
When I turned 50, hubbs asked me to buy the creamer, sugar bowl and tea pot. Heavenly bliss and luxurious frivolity!
The lime paper is from Pickled Pear, the sweet blue floral one from Miss Nelly and the gray/yellow floral paper from Forget Me Not, they are all collections from KaiserCraft. All other papers are from Swedish Maja Design.
Evidence used are: flowers, diamond shapes and circles.
Now to the third page that I created for my GDT spot with Inkido, I've called it "Amour" as the photo is of MIL and FIL on their engagement day long ago in the early 1950's.
It has just gone live over at the Inkido blog HERE
