CSI case file # 48 Comfort

Sleep still holding my eyes in its grip, stumbling out to the kitchen, putting the kettle on. Casting a glance at the thermometer in the kitchen window and getting wide awake in like a second when it hit me:   -14C!! That's COLD!

Slipping and sliding along the pavement to the bus stop, looking like a babushka in my duvet coat and big woollen scarf around my head. Not the ideal start to the day in my world, but hey that's life living close to the North Pole!

It's Tuesday which means time to share my page for the CSI case file # 48. First the gorgeous palette!

  • Glossy Blue - sky blue, taken from the light blue tiles -- 159.205.228
  • White Tile - white, taken from the counter -- 254.253.249
  • Chartreuse Shine - chartreuse, taken from the green tiles--196.183.43
  • Blueberry - dark blue, taken from the darker blue tiles -- 44.119.150
  • Stainless Steel - gray, taken from the lighter parts of the stove -- 216.207.200
EVIDENCE (USE AT LEAST 2 ELEMENTS)
  • clock
  • mosaic
  • silver metallic elements
  • something transparent
  • glossy accents
  • fruit accents
  • plain brads (inspired by the clock)
  • something inspired by the bowl on the middle shelf on the right (e.g., a border punch, die-cut, lace cardstock)
TESTIMONY (USE AT LEAST 1 ELEMENT)
  • Document something kitchen-related...food, special meals, your cooking talents, your own kitchen.
  • Write your journaling as a recipe.
  • Write your journaling as a schedule (inspired by the clock)
  • Write your journaling in bullets and use glossy brads as the bullets
  • List a bunch of words to describe the topic of your page OR choose one word and use a thesaurus to generate a list of synonyms (don't ask how, but that idea was inspired by the tiles.
  • Inspiration Words: eat, time, create-- use these as inspiration for your journaling, not just as a title

And here is my take - "Comfort" or the long version "365 days of comfort and joy";

All the papers except the lime green, are from Teresa Collins paper collection Now and Then. The lime green details are from KaiserCraft's Pickled Pear.

The evidence used are clocks, silver metallic element and fruit accent (the pears at the bottom). The pattern in the backing paper and the fussy-cut grid could also go as tiles. I have also punched a slim lacey border that you can see on the far left.

In the kitchen of my childhood, my mum would always bake bread. Coming home from school and feeling the smell of newly baked bread is something that can still make me almost drool. A generous dollop of butter spread on top of a slice, melting in golden yellow puddles when it hits the warm bread. Cheese and jam on top - oh heavenly cholesterol licked off my fingers!

When I have lots of time at hand, like during our summer vacation, I often bake something but never bread. My pièce de résistance is cinnamon rolls, the Swedish kanelbulle that we Swedes so lovingly worship. Nothing can beat a warm cinnamon roll and a glass of really cold milk! or why not two or even three ..

Cannot get that image of warm bread and butter out of my mind, me thinks I might splash out on some tea and toast!

Crazy crazy times have begun, one hardly knows if it's night or day, everything spins at an increasing speed and there is no stopping it at the moment. 3 weeks left to Christmas!!

Thanks ever so much for taking of your precious time to come for a visit! Thank you again!

Toodelipip! xoxo Eila
