Prima April BAP - Memories

Hello hello!

Been so incredibly busy with my new job. The boss and I are getting to know each other and I am settling in slowly in my new work place. Different routines and new people. So far so good.

Today I thought I'd share my take on the Prima April BAP. I created it quite some time ago, but with the recent sad event in my private life that I mentioned in my previous blogpost, there has been no time to photograph it or post it before.

Painting the world in bluebells

Today is a little bit special for me, it's my birthday but also a regular day in the office so the pink champers will have to wait till the weekend instead.

Today I am also painting the skies above and the earth below with bluebells, a thank you from all the souls that have painted our lives with the beautiful colour of love and left their eternal message of the precious gift of life to us. Last night a special heart stopped beating and he left us forever. Love is all that matters, love.

The page I'm sharing with you today, was originally created for the spring issue of the PaperHaus Magazine. Regretfully but understandably, the owner Frank Garcia had to close down the magazine just before the release of the magazine. Looking at Frank's busy schedule, I wonder how on earth he manages it all. Things have taken off beautifully for him this year and I am wishing him every bit of continued success and happiness!

Back to my layout. I took inspiration from the the colours in the photo of the glassware in the old green house, rain streaking the glass pain giving the photo a soft feel.  It made me want to snuggle up under a blanket with a good book and a cup of hot coffee while the raindrops drum on the window sill.

SATW Mid Month reveal April 2014 Challenge 12 - close ups of my shadow box "Thread of Life"

Happy Easter to ya all!

This morning I sat out on our balcony having my morning coffee for the first time this spring. All the cats were sunbathing and smelling the potted daffodils we have out there. Made me really so happy!

Anyhow, back to scrappy business. My apologies for not posting the close-ups of my take on the SATW April moodboard yesterday but unexpected tummy business decided to alter my plans for a while.

First the finished 20 x 20 canvas mounted in a deep shadowbox;

 Never worked with crackle paste before so it was a 

happy experiment that I'll try again!

Swedish scrapbooking - Allt om Scrap - my canvas "Happiness"

Hello again!

I have been approached several times by the Swedish online authority on Scrapbooking - "Allt om Scrap" - regarding a GDT spot with them. The editor Marie, is DT member over at Heart & Soul, also known as The Color Rooms. Unfortunately other commitments came in between, but now everything fitted beautifully!

Allt of Scrap have a challenge in monochromatic yellow on their blog HERE that I was asked to create something for. I went for a 20 x 20 canvas mounted in a deep shadow box.

Here's the canvas with misted yellow tones 

and a bit of white.

I also added some stamping in really dark yellow that 

looks like brown, around the border.

 

 All the mulberry flowers were originally white.

And this is the finished result in its shadow box 

ready to go up on the wall or on a shelf.
