Hi there!
Thank you for popping by to have a closer peek at the canvas I made for Scrap Around The World's mid-month February reveal - "Victory".
Yesterday Stockholm was dressed in snow slush. Today we have woken to a fabulous spring day, sunshine and blue skies. Hope you are having a wonderful weekend where ever you are!
The lady in the photo is my MIL on her graduation day back in 1952.
It was a day of true victory for her.
For years she had dreamed of becoming a nurse,
and in order for her to achieve her dream,
she had to work very, very hard to get the money
needed for the tuition.
She had battled against all odds and her own family
who didn't support her.
My MIL often talks about those early days,
the comraderie among the girls
and the hard conditions.

Several subtle layers of stamping, masking, structure paste,
chalking and misting.

Once again everything on this canvas is stash-raided.
The chippie corner flourish is from Dusty Attic.
I first chalked it in Dark Bark and Rock Moss before
embossing it in Gold.
Then it was randomly touched-up with
Shimmerz Dimensionz in "Blue Lagoon"
which was zapped with my heat gun till it bubbled.
Lastly I dabbed some Turquoise Stone liquid chalk edger
over it. A sprinkle or two of Martha Stewart micro beads
in "Topaze Blue" were added as the last touch.

Now to the winner of my pizza box of flowers.
