Something for me - "Forever"

First of all a massive THANK YOU for all birthday wishes that poured in from all around the globe on Tuesday, 23rd!! I cannot believe how many sweet messages I got - makes my heart go all fuzzy! and for those curious about my age, well let's say I've passed my bi-centennials ha ha!

Guess what hubbs gave me? clever man, a very generous electronic gift card at Scrapbook.com! me thinks he might have noted the sender's label on the umpteen parcels he's fetched for me from the post office :))

I have written many times how my heart breaks when it's time to take farewell of our fur babies and see them cross the bridge over to the Rainbow Land. Each time I read about a scrappy friend who has parted from her much loved pet, my heart starts beating faster and I get a lump in my throat because I can relate.

The page I am sharing with you today was made with special love and tenderness for a very special lady and her four-legged darling. I think the photo she took herself speaks volumes.

Here is "Forever In Our Hearts";

The papers on this one are all from Prima's Fairy Belle, good old stashraiding!

The chipboard title is from Imaginarium Designs. Misting in Gold and chalking in plum and brown on it.

The beautiful gold mesh is from sweet Joyce Lawrence in the US and the cute hearts from Riikka Kovasin in Finland. Thank you dear friends!

Layered fussy cutting, stamping and inking, masking on the bottom layer.

I think it might be worthwile keeping an extra eye on Facebook on 1 May .. something brand new is cooking around the world ...

Prima MARCH BAP and PPP + still time to play along with OUAS April challenge

Hello sunshine!!

Every morning when I walk from the tube station to the office, I pass through a park. For a very long time the lawns have been filled with dirty piles of  snow and ice, and the birds have been sitting on bare branches.

Suddenly earlier this week I could see spring flowers pushing through last year's leaves and dry grass patches, the trees and bushes had halos of delicate green about them and there was definitely something different in the air.

When I saw this little beauty nodding its white head in the pools of sunshine among the trees, I knew spring is finally here for real. This little flower is the surest sign of warmer days, it's called "vitsippa" in Swedish, in English it's commonly known as wood anemone, thimbleweed, windflower, smell fox or helmet flower.

On the floral note and without further ado, here's my Prima MARCH BAP - "Happy Days" but first the sketch itself;

Sketch 2 MArie-Nicolas

Everything on this page is of course Prima, except the filmstrip (TH) and chippie title (Imaginarium Design).

After the BAP, comes my MARCH PPP on which I have used a photo of myself taken a couple of years ago. Here's first the colour palette of fresh greens;

2013 March PPP

Seeing it here, my page looks like a canvas, but it's not. I've used thick watercolour paper as base and then I created everything on white cardstock that I had cut smaller.

Lots of mists, diluted gesso, stamping and masking going on.

Had to tweak this photo quite a bit to make the layers of subtle whites and creams come across when photographed. No problem seeing it IRL though.

Before I sign off, I'd like to remind you that you still have 5 days to enter the OUAS April challenge.

The deadline for this challenge is midnight, 25 April 2013 (Australian Eastern Standard Time)

Theme:  Best day of your life

The best day of your life!!!!! Everyone has at least one or two! Tell us anything that you can relate this title to.

Ideas for journalling: child's birth, wedding day, anniversary, meeting someone special, buying a new home, changing jobs, a holiday, a special celebration.. there is no right or wrong. Its YOUR day!

Et voilà, that's it for today! Have a balcony to spring clean and new living room curtains to hem this weekend or perhaps I'll let the lazy gene in me persuade me to have coffee with hubbs at an outdoor café and lunch and an ice cream and a stroll by the waterfront. He he no guessing which option wins ...

Wishing you a really really good one!  I'll be back on Wednesday.

Blue Fern Studios -3rd April page + Easter Bloghop winner + the winner of my give-away

Yes!! it's raining! washing away dirty snow, rinsing the streets and bringing moisture down to Mother Earth. Spring, spring, bring it on - more rain pls!

First the winner of my give-away. Congratulations Romy!! 3 packs of Corine flowers waiting for you! I'll pop them into the mail for you if you contact me with your postal address. xoxox

Riikka Kovasin's Easter bloghop was a great success! The first day the counter hit over 700 visits and the hop post directly was totally viewed over 500 times. Shame on me, I totally forgot to post the link to Riikkas blog announcing the winner, so sorry.

HERE IT IS: http://paperiliitin.blogspot.fi/2013/04/easter-blog-hop-winners.html

Also sharing the third of my Blue Fern Studios  April pages - "Memento Vivere", which means live in the moment, enjoy what's here and now.

Once again all papers used are from Swedish Maja Design's new collection Vintage Springtime  Basics.

There's a whole sheet with beautiful pastel coloured butterflies in this collection. Perfect size for both cards and layouts!

The photo is taken by my stepdaughter. Seeing the first crocuses always brings that feel of elated happiness - finally it's on its way - Spring!

Subtle script masking/modeling pasting. Masking/inking in the berry pink and vintage brown. Stamping in orange. And of course my favest mist of all - Mr Huey's Opaque White.

I used 3 Blue Fern Studios chipboard pieces on my page: The Evening Lamp Post (074660), the Organic Vine (074516), the Country Picket Fence (074561)

Here is what they look like raw:

I smeared modelling paste on the Country Picket Fence and then painted it in Glimmer Glaze Coconut Shell. Gives some serious knobbly texture.

On the Organic Vine I used crackle paint in Shabby Shutters and then while it was still wet, I randomly dabbed some Cosmic Shimmer powder here and there.

This adorable dove is a gift from sweet Riikka Kovasin. Kiitos murunen!!

Thank you darlings, so happy you had the time to pop by! xoxo

In my next post I'll be sharing my Prima March BAP and PPP.

Blue Fern Studios April

It's that time of the month again when it's my turn to share 3 pages over at Blue Fern Studios.

I am sharing two pages in this blog post and the third one later in the week but before I do that, I would like to thank each and one of you who have visited me during the passed 2 years.

I forgot to celebrate my blog anniversary but am doing that now by giving away 3 packs of these Prima Corine flowers, remnants of the very very last batch existing in the world.

The name of one randomly drawn person will be pulled from those leaving a comment on this blog post before I post my next post on 14 April.

My first page is called "Cute Stuff". All the papers are from Swedish Maja Design's new collection Vintage Springtime Basics. The young ladies in the photo are (left) my step daughter and her friend (right).

Here I have used the title from the word set Good Vibes (074899)

Good Vibes

a Royal Border - Large  (074615) under the top right cluster crossing the corner

Royal Border - Large

the swirly bit holding the Fancy Birdcage (074677) going up from the bottom cluster left

Fancy Birdcage

Unfortunately I had to tweak this photo a bit as the pink and white on the chipboard is to pale to photograph well.

and a Tropical Vine (074936) under the bottom cluster left

The second page I am sharing today is called "Blooming".

All papers on this one are also from Maja Design's new spring collection.

On this paged I used a Seasonal Wildflower (074394)

Part of the title Blooming Beauty (074554)

and a left over snippet from a Symphony Border (074530)

The fabric used is from one of Norwegian Tilda's spring collections.

That's it for today! Thanks ever so much for your visit, it is much appreciated!

See on you 14 April if you have the time.
