Scrap365 Magazine - Quirky Kit Blog Hop

Hello beautiful peeps and welcome to our blog hop!

We at Scrap365 Magazine have joined forces with the fabulous Quirky Kit girls to show you just how economical, exciting and inspirational subscribing to a kit can be!!

If you have come from Sian's blog, you're in the right place!

Here's a list of all the gals that are playing along today; please make sure that you leave some love on every hoppee's blog; like Scrap365 on Facebook and follow the Quirky Kits blog so that we can put you into the draw to win the MAY/JUNE 'It's My Party' Main Kit :)

The draw for the winner will be made and announced at 9am UK on Friday, 4th July.

Quirky Kits have a choice of three kits - Main, Lite and Embellishment; all of which are delivered bi-monthly. Check out their kits HERE

Leonora and her team have kindly given us the beautiful 'It's My Party' Main Kit to give away as a prize.

The DT have all been playing with one or more of the current Quirky Kits to show you just how versatile they are; and how they suit any style of scrapping!

So let's get started. First off we were given a sketch to use as a jumping off point.

Sometimes I have beautiful products and am itching to create something with them, but I have no clue where to start. My head is totally blank for ideas.

That's when I find using sketches a really good way of kick-starting the creative process. Rotating the sketch different ways also feeds my mojo as it sees elements from different angles. Very often the finished result has little to do with the original sketch, but the main thing is that I was inspired.

A really wonderful sketch can also inspire me to start digging for products because I see certain shapes and/or elements that spark my imagination.

I played with the Lite, Main and Embellishment kits mixing different papers and embellies from all of them. All flowers are from my stash.

I used one of the sketches that come with the kits as starting point for my first layout - "Pucker Up":

This is sooo different to my normal layered style,
but going CAS and using only one single flower
albeit a really chunky one, was great fun.

Loved the sparkly sequins and that yummie gold thread.

 ***

My second page is based on the Scrap365 sketch above - "Nbr One Girl":

With an adorable photo like this one, my choice of papers
was an easy one. I obviously used one photo instead of 4
smaller ones.

Sweet sweet acetate butterflies and sugar dots on soft
mist splatters.

My faves are the Teresa Collins floral and heart papers - LOVE!

Got to adore the vellum with teal sparkly polka dots!

***

Also my third page is inspired by one of the sketches that come with the kits - "Joy":

This page came together in a wink.
Pure eye candy for me, but I am biased of course.
Just love the lime green, peach and rosy pinkish reds.

This photo says it all. The joy of being children, the joy
of running, the joy of giggling and just having so much fun!

My kind of cluster; flowers, fussy-cutting, and sweet embellies.

Cards and gift boxes for happy celebrations

Hi ya!

Spring and summer are always full of celebrations; it's birthdays, exams, weddings and other happy occasions. Always so glad to create cards and gift boxes for those special events.

So today I though I'd share some of them with you. Starting with a gift box for a sweet lady. Everything on it is from Prima. Papers are from the Almanac collection. I've tucked in some wood icon leaves, vines, a canvas bloom, feathers and my faves, Le Mia and Soprano roses.

Next is a card for another darling lady. Here I have used Prima Sea Shore, Delight and Songbird collections. Popped in fussy cut blooms and leaves from a piece of Kaiser Craft paper and Prima Princess blooms and resins. Lace words and sparkling crystals.

The third project is a journal. Everything on it is from Prima. The papers and fussy cutting are from the Almanac and Rondelle collections.

I have more cards and gift boxes to share with you, but will
leave them for a wee bit later.

See you soon again!

Mother and celebrating Midsummer

Craaaazy times over here! spending long hours at work and hardly none by the computer. Creating is at temporary standstill because of my working hours.

Tomorrow is Midsummer over here, for many it marks the start of the summer holidays. I have another two weeks to go before it's time for sandals and shorts. Practicing wiggling my shoeless toes every morning when I have my coffee out on the balcony - bliss!

Aaanyhow, thought I'd share the first page ever that I had published in the April/May issue of Scrap365 Magzine. It was created back in the early days of January so I had almost forgotten it.

Here's "Mor" or Mother as it translates into English. It's my MIL in the photo.

Canvas - "The Story Tale of Saffran"

Hello wonderful peeps!

My gosh how fast a week passes! quite a bit to do at work with only weeks to go before the summer holidays set in.

Today I'm sharing a canvas that I made for the art exhibition back in May. It's called "The Story Tale of Saffran" or saffron as it translates into English. Saffran is a little blind puppy who had a really tough time coming into this world but who found her loving humans and a very good safe home. It now hangs in her new home as a hommage to the amazing woman who brought Saffran back to life - J.

As in all fairytales, there are woodland animals and sweet
details like the resin mushrooms on this canvas.
I have kept the colours sweet and light,
the feeling of hope and happiness.

The resin deer is a symbol of Saffron herself.
Her mummy says her little face looks like
that of the sweetest little deer.

And for those of you who might be interested in checking out
the recording of the Live With Prima show that I
broadcasted on Tuesday, 10 June 2014,
here's the link to the recording on Ustream

Still pinching myself, this is me who has never ever done
a video, let alone created anything for a live audience.

I am truly humbled that Prima had such faith in me, and thought
there is people out there who would like to see
me create one of my pages.

I give thanks in my heart to the Allmighty powers above
for blessing me with this fantastic opportunity.
I am grateful beyond words.
