News! Skissedilla DT and sketch 211 - "Having Fun"

Hi there!

Isn't it wonderful how surprises happen when you least expect?! A very short while ago I had an email from Lene Björnerud, world famous scapper from Norway and co-owner of the Norwegian challenge site Skissedilla. The answer to her question lies in this blog post - I am thrilled to bits to say that I am one of the Dilla DT girls now! YAY!

Skissedilla has a weekly sketch challenge and I am contributing every other week. Here's this week's sketch released today Sunday, 19 May:

I was in a tad of a hurry to come up with something for the sketch, here's my take - "Having Fun With My Sis";
Very vibrant colours for me but hey, sometimes even I take a dive! and looksie -orange!

The pale blue floral wreath is fussy cut from a paper by Kaiser Craft, the other papers are Pink Paislee Indigo Bleu.

The chipboard Country Picket Fence is from Blue Fern Studios and the black pearl swirl is Prima of course.

I promised to share my Prima April BAP and PPP but this Skissedilla announcement sort of altered my plans. However, I will do that in my next blogpost. I also have more beans to spill in my next blogpost ..

Thanks ever so much for popping by! Hope you're having a really good one!

Blue Fern Studios - Summer

Hi ya!

Me again with the third and last of my May Blue Fern Pages.

This one is called "Summer" but looking at the colours that I've used, it should perhaps have been called "Autumn".

An interesting mix of papers on this one. Starting from the botton and going up:

13@rts Frosted  Life (pink) Frosted Ferns
Brown "frame" Meg's Garden The Musical Christmas Collection
13@rts Frosted Life (pink) Moon Dust
Basic Grey Sweet Threads (marroon)
Prima (minty palish top layer)
Meg's Garden (music sheet and stripes) The Musical Christmas Collection
Meg's Garden (fussy cut leaves and blooms) The Musical christmas Collection

I cut off a couple of sections from the BFS Calligraphic Border and placed under and to the right of the photo. They were painted in a mix of white and pink acrylic paint. IRL it looks a bit like strawberry swirls in vanilla ice cream. Diamanté from Meg's Garden.

The Fob Watch got the same treatment as the Calligraphic Border. Prima clock face and WP cameo layered on top.

And that's it, my BFS pages for May! Thank you so much for coming by!

Hope to see you another day, if Prima hasn't revealed the April winners and features yet, I will share my April BAP and PPP in my next blogpost.

Cheers! xoxox Eila

Blue Fern Studios - Hello

Hello!

I'm back with my second May page for Blue Fern Studios - I have called it "Hello".

It has brighter and more vibrant colours than my first page that was all shabby.

The papers used on my page are a mix of KaiserCraft Secret Admirer, Les Papiers de Pandore, MME and Prima Divine.

The photo of the little fourlegged cutie is once again by the Finnish photographer.

The Princess Window was randomly swiped with Lumière Metallic Rust and then dry brushed with gesso.

The Royal Border large was also randomly swiped with the Lumière Metallic Rust and drybrushed in gesso.

Cannot stop looking at Miss Doggie, how cute can cute get!

Wonderful having you for a peek, hope to see you back when I share my third and last BFS page. Mwah!

Blue Fern Studios - Peace

It's once again that time of the month when it's my turn to share 3 projects over at Blue Fern Studios. I will share my 3 projects in 3 separate blog posts over the next few days.

Here's the first one that I have called "Peace" in the shabby colours and lumpy bumpy style that I have a special soft spot for. Prima's Songbird collection has to be one of my all time faves! The layers in the middle under the photo, are from KaiserCraft.

The photo is by the Finnish photographer whose work I am permitted to use for my scrapbooking.

It photographed rather crookedly I'm afraid :)

Here's a corner of the BFS Art Nouveau frame that I have tucked in under the layers. It was misted and chalked in many different hues of peach, apricot, alabaster cream, vintage brown, tangerine and marigold.

I also cut a Country Picket fence in smaller sections and placed on either side of my photo. I primed it very very lightly and unevenly as I wanted the raw chipboard to show through for a weathered look.

The title is from the Good Vibes wordset. It was chalked in vintage brown and marigold to keep within the colour scheme.

Quite a few layers on that page!

Merci beacoup my sweet ladies for popping by!

Blue Fern Studios May sketch - Butterfly Kisses

Stockholm has been bursting with spring happiness this weekend, all cafés are bustling with people drinking coffee, eating ice cream and just checking out the street life. The cherry trees in that specific park in our town centre that I've written about before, are sprouting pink halos of buds just about to open up. A couple of days more of this weather and Bob's your uncle!

Just the perfect mood to share my take on Blue Fern Studios beautiful May sketch by  Michele Singh - "Butterfly Kisses";

The red&white checkered paper is from KaiserCraft Marigold collection, the aqua is WP and the floral top one is from Basic Gray Lucille. I have also fussy cut from another Marigold paper.

The BFS chipboard title was dabbed in Lemon and Wild Honey.

Both BFS Brigitte butterflies were first painted in Glimmer Glaze Island Spring and then misted in Chalkboard Chalk. Love that stuff!

The BFS Lattice Fence was simply painted in white acrylic paint for a fresh garden feel.

Have a wonderful week wherever you are!
