Scrap Around The World January mid-month reveal - close-ups of my page "Waiting"

Hello there!

Phew! WHAT a week it has been in the office! boy did I wait for this weekend to come!

Winter has arrived to Stockholm even if we haven't had much snow thank heavens. Our cats make a quick dash out onto the balcony and then quickly in again. Just like me, they prefer the cosy warmth under a blanket.

The Scrap Around The World January mid-month reveal has gone live, and as I am in the second group, my take on the moodboard was in it.

Here is first the moodboard and then close-ups of my page "Waiting";

I used a base of both white Bazzill cardstock and
thick cream coloured handmade water colour
paper before adding papers from Polish
UHK Gallery. It's really fabulous as it's resist.

Mists, gesso, Shimmerz TextureZ, pearls.

All the flowers on my page are stash-raided,
mainly Prima but there
are a couple of Maya Road lace ones too.

Silver microbeads and Melissa Frances Mica flakes
for added wintery shimmer.

Beach huts waiting for summer.

The PaperHaus Magazine winter issue nbr 5 - the last layout "Frozen Garden" - page 61

Hello Tuesday, hello you!

So I've come to the last of the layouts I had published in The PaperHaus Magazines winter issue nbr 5.

It can be found on page 61 next to Bente Fagerberg and Romy Veul's pages in the House Gallery.

Seeing the photo of the statue and garden
covered in frost and icicles,
brought me a feel of Narnia
and I immediately wanted to create something
with the same feel.
Ice and snow, almost monochromatic
with a soft teal background,
and the pop of red from the robins.

The PaperHaus Magazine winter issue nbr 5 - my layout "Snow Fun" - page 5

Friday, glorious Friday! so glad the weekend is upon us. The first week after a rather long bank holiday is always a tough one. I'm hungry at funny hours and want to take a nap when it's the busiest in the afternoon. Ha ha! I sound like an old lady needing fixed meal hours!

I've come to my 4th and second last page published in The PaperHaus Magazine's winter issue nbr 5. Thank you for your patience when I'm ranting about this incredible spell of luck that rocked my world.

The layout I'm sharing today is called "Snow Fun" and I originally planned it around the Dreamsketch, but as it so often happens, it morphed in other directions and turned out different. It is one of my faves from the winter issue. So much fun to create this lumpy bumpy page full of the stuff that I seriously love!

I was stunned beyond belief to se it under the Editor's section on "Noteworthy" on page 5.

The photos of children playing in the snow some
60 years ago, doing exactly what children do today,
inspired me to make a page
full of snow texture and a vintage tattered feel.
Having fun in the snow is what it’s all about!

I found the photos in our city archives.

The PaperHaus Magazine winter issue nbr 5 - my layout "Frosty Fun" - page 47

Hello hello!

So life is back to normal again. My stash purging is at a stand-still, I'm discovering so much stuff that I had forgotten all about. Some make me wonder what on earth I was thinking, other things make the little gray cells start turning with new ideas. My nook is a bombsite in other words. Well - it's always a bombsite but now it's even worse.

Aaaanyhow, here's another page that I was fortunate to have published in the PaperHaus Magazine's winter issue nbr 5 - "Frosty Fun". It can be found on page 47 under the section Dreamsketch.

Imagine a cold winter's day with sunshine and the
whole world dressed in glittering frost.
Snowflakes gently dancing through the air.
Beautiful as can be!

This photo is used as a whole-page introduction
to the Dreamsketch.

Here's the DH of the Finnish photographer
whose photos I am allowed to use.
The white little furbaby with red scarf, is Mr Svante.

That's it!
