Prima OCTOBER 2013 BAP - "Golden"

Hello hello!

The rain is pounding on the windows and the wind is building up. A class 3 storm warning has been issued for the south of Sweden. Train traffic has been suspended and trees are breaking like matches. Even if Stockholm is on the east coast, the storm can be felt up here.

Happy to report that my cold is almost gone, my voice is still kind of interesting though.

Anyhow, just a short post this evening to share my take on Prima's October BAP.

Something just for me - "Bling Bling" - and meeting Ania, Frank, Donna and Gerry

Hi!

Cannot believe a whole week has passed since the workshops last weekend. Caught a nasty cold and have been concentrating on coping with my day-time job. First some photos from the workshops.

This one was taken by Riikka Kovasin at Finnabair's
workshop "Splash".
My goodness how talented she is Riikka!
I was struggling like mad with the short time we had for each step
and she just whipped up an amazing page
in absolutely no time!

And then two amazing workshops with this young man - Frank Garcia!
It was absolutely awesome meeting him IRL.
He is sooo sweet, a true gentleman
and incredibly talented too!
Thank you SO much for all the inspiration, help, chats
and encouragement Frank!

This southern belle kicked off Sunday big time with her
"Big 40" workshop - Donna Downey!
50 ladies using our heat tools at the same time
blew the fuses over and over again.
The concentration and creativity crackled in the air big time.

My hands still have paint stains and my apron
has many splashes of happiness.
I say, jump at the first opportunity of taking any of her classes!

This amazing weekend finished with a workshop with the
one and only Gerry van Gent.
She is one of the goddesses on mount Olympus of scrapbooking!
Gentle, mindboggingly talented, kind and sweet.
One of the nicest people I have ever met.

If you ever get to go to one of her workshops,
you will see miracles happen with paper and scissors!
It's not a coincidence that every single one of her pages
is drop dead gorgeous!

And now back to my own humble project.

Back on 24 September I shared a short tut on the Scrap Around The World's blog and also showed a page that I had been working on simultaneously with the featured page. I thought I'd share the close-ups of that page with you today.

Here is "Bling Bling" - letting the photos speak for themselves.

Found the piccie on internet, luscious bling sandals!
who wouldn't want to have them with a summer dress!

Mixing stash-raided products with brand new ones.
The Prima Delight button is mounted on an old
dimensional sticker from MME.

I've been saving the pretty pretty blue/white clay buttons made by
sweet Ivana Camdzic for years.
That girl makes THE most stunning shabby cards, one more gorgeous than the next.
Have a looksie at her blog HERE

Et voilà!

Thank you so so much for coming by!

I am leaving comment every single day in blogland,
but as I cannot do that while at my day-timework,
my visits to your own blog may seem irregular.

I apologize if I come across as slack and uncaring because of this.

Love and hugs, Eila

Scrap Around The World - a tut on how I created my page "Busking"

Hello hello!

Today I have a short tut on Scrap Around The World on how I created the below page.

For the tut, please click HERE

Well, I actually don't have much of a planned process but it always starts with either the papers or the flowers. As you no doubt know, I have a huge crush on papers and flowers, and I simply got to have flowers on my pages.

This particular page came about when I was sorting a pile of papers and they happened to come up in the order almost identical to what I ended up using. This is basically always my starting point.

And this is the finished page - "Busking".

As I don't create a page from start to finish in one go,
I always work on a couple of pages at the same time.

When creating the above page, I also worked on the below
page simultaneously while paint and mediums were
drying on the first one.

I will share the details of my "Bling Bling" page
with you on 26 September.

Back to my page "Busking".

The photo was taken by my special Finnish photographer in Tallinn,
which is the capital of Estonia by the Baltic Sea.
I was inspired by the crackles in the wall behind him.

Tallinn's Old Town is a world heritage protected part of the medieval city
and has fantastic old houses with beautifully carved doors and gables.
The fussy-cut frame from KaiserCraft is perfect
under the chippie trellies from Polish Wycinanka
that I used as matting for the photo.

These cute chippie houses are also from Polish Wycinanka.
I misted them in several hues of Suede, Sunflower yellow,
Sand, and Chalk before adding gel bead medium,
acrylic paint and stamping.

The PaperHaus Magazine Fall Issue nbr 5 - "Sheep" page 75

Hi there!

I've been waiting since March for this weekend to come. It is the weekend when Finnabair, Frank Garcia, Gerry van Gent and Donna Downey are having workshops in Stockholm.  It started yesterday evening with Finn and continues until late Sunday evening.

Today I'm meeting Frank for the first time and tomorrow it's Donna and Gerry's turn. I'm taking 5 workshops all in all. Splurging out big time!

In this post I'm sharing the 3rd of the 4 pages that I had published in The PaperHaus Magazine fall issue nbr 5 - HERE

This layout can be found on page 75.

It is one of the most simplest pages I think that I have ever created, but it is my favourite among the pages I created for the PHM fall issue. The photo of the sheep just got me from the sec I set my eyes on it on internet. Cannot for the world remember where I found it though, so sorry for that.

I don't think I have ever had this short a product list before!

K&Company Tim Coffey “Blossomwood”

FLOWERS

Prima “Heart Desire”

So glad you wanted to stop by, many thanks!

I'll be back with the 4th and last of my published pages
on Monday, 21st.
